My 2006 650GS Dakar will often rev high at about 3000rpm, after starting. Though it always eventually settles after a couple minutes back to 1500rpm. Normal cold start idle should be 2000rpm then settling at 1500rpm.
This problem is random and won't always happen, but now happens more often then not. Anyone else had this issue? One of the BMW mechanics says no it's normal, some 650's just do it, which is not a satisfactory answer to me.
I've tried resetting the throttle on multiple occasions, even waiting for the fan to come on before turning off. Also removed and cleaned up any deposits on the idle control valve and seat.
What sensor determines what idle rpm will be?
