Wilddogs at the Roof helping- Thanks Greyhounds!!
« on: December 04, 2016, 06:12:01 pm »
Just a word from my son and i_- at the Roof Dogs were at an outside refuel point on day3. My son was doing silver and it was quite tough. 3 Dogs- Edgy, Big Dom and Throttle Jockey helped him refuel and take on water. He wants to thank them for their help and reassuring him. It helped him a lot and made difference. He went onto finish 56th in silver. Thanks guys I hope to return the favour someday.

As I said to you ETS...your son Andries is great young man you can certainly be very proud of and even more so now achieving what he did at this Roof in particular!! It takes special kind of guts and determination to do what he did! :thumleft:

Thanks ETS - it was only a pleasure and congrats both of you, no mean feat in what has probably been the hardest and most poorly organised Roof that I have been witness too! (lots on fb about this and the endless debacles).

There was another Greyhound there helping alot as well - Ginger Ninja (Leon Lee)  :thumleft:

Not this year - he was doing Matric which interfered with lead-up training and clashed with the event (and ROA Org are really not interested in the exam clashes that youngsters have and I question any commitment of theirs to youth development). In many ways I am thankful as he wants to do Gold, having completed Bronze and Silver, and with the faarkups of this year it would have been devastating to have invested the time, energy and money to possibly be sidelined due to poor organisation and logistics. I am nervous as he wants to focus on extreme events and a Gold Roof finish in 2017. The other upside was it gave me the opportunity again to ride up and spectate and party a bit.  >:D
