I visited the Woodstock garage build get together over the weekend.  It shows that the custom bike building fraternity put in some serious effort.  But out of all bikes on display this XT500 really caught my attention.  The only stock part is the motor.  Everything else is hand made.  Frame in welded in stainless.  Overall it was a fabulous effort and something that made me shed a nostalgic XT500 tear.
