Tribute to Tracey
My brown eyed girl.

I always said to Tracey that Van Morrison wrote this song especially for her.
Her eyes caught my attention when I sat next to her at a friend’s birthday on the 19th of May 2004.
The restaurant was lousy.
We realized quickly that this was not just another relationship. Adventurers had met and soulmates had found each other.

I never had to spend effort to talk Tracey into a new adventure. Rather to talk her out of it.
You don’t catch a one and a half metre Pyjama Shark with your hands. You look for a small one.

There was more than a fair share of rough patches in our twelve years together.
We always pulled through and emerged stronger.

Tracey proved to us over the last 28 months that she could fight like a lion. She never gave up.

The cancer succeeded in destroying her body. It could not touch her soul.
The last time I looked into Tracey’s eyes they were still just as beautiful as on the day I met her for the first time.

I thank you Tracey for twelve awesome years.

Let me close with a line from The Little Prince:
“Goodbye” said the fox. “Now here is my secret, very simply: You can only see things clearly with your heart. What is essential is invisible to the eye.

Love
Jürgen
