Janee.  Any rider will have good luck and bad luck over his career.  Sunday, Shez had the good luck.  It is what it is and Sofuglu and Clusel will just have to live with it.

Bear, what is the story with Jarred, why is he struggling, He has so much talent but remains nowhere. Binder is in a similar (better) boat. WHY?

My first guess would be money.  There is a huge budget differential between the top teams and the lower teams.  These guys race overseas with no help from MSA and very little, if any sponsorship from SA.  In many cases, they pay to ride, i.e. they don't get paid, they have to pay to ride the bike.  In most cases, the parents and a couple of friends carry that cost.

Sheridan qualified 2nd on the grid this past weekend.  He ran 1st and 2nd for most of the race until his gearbox developed more neurals than gears.  He finally finished 8th, still 3rd in the championship.  Sadly Keenan Sofoglu, after a crash during qualifying is out for the rest of the season.

Pity about Sofuaglo...and also for Sheridan. Must say I was confused with the way he fell back so suddenly...now we know the reason.

Indeed a pity about Sofoglu.  I enjoyed watching him ride.

Seems the final battles at Jerez and Qatar will be factory Yamaha versus satelite Yamaha!

Bad luck for Sheridan.  Ran 1st for awhile then the bike developed a glitch which dropped him back to 12th.  Glitch disappeared and he made up places to 6th.  Stupid YAMAHA!  Anyway, he is now 4th in the championship.  Still excellent and in with a chance to finish 2nd.

Sheridan struggled most of the weekend, but managed a decent season 4th in the World Championship.  Well done Shez!

.Interesting fact:  He was the only rider who finished in the points all races the season.  That is consistent!

Looking forward to 2018 season.

Ja 4th for the season is great!  :thumleft:

However, it looked like he had no confidence on the bike this weekend. He was slow on corner entry as well as mid corner. For someone like Ant West to clap him by more than a second per lap, something was wrong. Even when Sofuoglo overtook him, he looked very jittery.

Agreed.  He seemed to have no confidence in the bike at all.  Too bad as he could have been 3rd, even 2nd in the championship.  Sofoglu is a beast!

Stupid of me to assume, but damn I only saw this morning that Sheridan doesn't have a ride for 2018 yet... :-\ This is bloody heartbreaking after winning a race and some podiums this year culminating in the 4th overall.

Money .... Money .... Money ...

The Kalio Team contracted a 18 year old youngster with a rich dad to take Sheridan's place.  A figure of R5m for the seat is mentioned.   >:( >:( >:(
