African rain seasons and travel start date

Hello everyone

I am planning Cape to Europe trip in about 4-5 months.

Seems weather should be nice along the way starting around that time so i don't get caught in heavy rains and whatnot.

But, if i could leave earlier, say Feb. I cannot figure out rain patterns around equator etc. especially places like kenya, ethiopia, uganda, rwanda ...

Any helpful thoughts / suggestions ?

Would i be making a mistake by leaving earlier ? should i stick with april/may departure?
