How does it sound/go?

I did a similar thing to my Dakar.  I had a Honda VFR silencer which I cut a bit shorter and welded it in place of the standard silencer.  Both are the same diameter so it was easy.  Sounds lekker I think.  A proper deep thumper sound but it is not noisy.

.

.

I now have a toolbox on the right hand side in the gap left by the silencer from that side.

Can I have your OEM can? I have a PowerFlow on one of my DR's which works a bit on my nerves. Prefer it quiet.

The Clarke tank is nice, eh? Just the right size.

the guys on advrider an thumpertalk rave about this conversion... i reckon if you can get a gsxr can for free its worth doing ...u will save a lot of weight and becuase the gsxr can has all the legal mumbo it gives the guys in the states a chance to get away with it (if that makes sense)

an end can for a gsxr must cost horrible money though so unless u get one for free it aint worth doing

My Honda VFR can was quite badly rashed from a fall.  I just put that to the inside when I fitted it to the Dakar.  So you may be able to get the silencer fairly cheap if it is damaged but still use it.

I think that you have MY pictures posted all over a website that I have never been to until now!

Here is a sound byte video to go with them:

The pipe was cheap $50 U.S. Midpipe included. It outperforms any/all aftermarket pipes specifically designed for the DR 650 yet is quieter and much nicer in tone.

I will happily answer any questions that you may have.
