Was wondering whether you guys went out on Saturday with all that rain.

Had picture of guys covered in mud in my head :ricky:

Who's keen on a ride this weekend? There's a little rain forecast but nothing serious.
I'm thinking Breedts -> Marikana -> railway lines to Rustenburg/Boshoek/Sun City, but I'm not sure what those railway water crossings will be like after all this rain.

Anyone have something else in mind?

Sunday morning it is. At the moment it's looking like Breedts then Railway roads and/or canal roads. Should be chilled and easy except for mud...not sure how much there'll be.
I'm on a 990 and there's probably a 660Z joining me, perhaps a 800XC as well so this won't be a balls-out plastic ride  :3some:

If anyone has a different route in mind then let me know  :thumleft:

If any slower/ less experienced guys are keen for a ride I'd dig to go do a chilled hekpoort route. Option of Breedts but that far side was a bit rough last time I was there. Don't feel like anything too hectic.

If anyone's keen let me know.

This sounds like the kind of ride I'd be keen to join. I'd be happy to sweep a slow one. Always happy to support newbies enjoying what their bikes can offer.

Went up Breedts last week, the worst I have ever seen it. Had my son on the back and loaded with luggage so bailed in the end, Not willing to let him get hurt. Still doable with a clank, clank..Aaag I have grown soft for rides that damage me or my scoot

I went up about 2/3months ago and had never done the far side so I went up and over and it was a bit of an eye opener. Managed to ascent back over though.

Then on the last day of work in December after a bunch of rain I needed to go drop off some stuff at a customer in Rustenburg and decided to come back via the scenic route. It was really rough. Glad I took the Jeep

Mmkay so I think we might give Breedts a miss. I'm all for playing in the mud but I'm not in the mood for negotiating rocks.
I'm thinking Harties -> Canal Roads -> Maybe some railway roads. We can do a loop without having to go over the pass.

Again, if anyone has a route to use or wants to lead then go right ahead.

Try this route. About 100km's

Start at Skeerpoort new filling station.

Mostly gravel with here and there pieces of tar to get to the next gravel.

Quite easy going, nothing technical.

Stop at Magaliesburg wimpy.

Wish I could join you, but have family that will be very cross with me. (I am free on Saturday though)

Enjoy  :thumleft:

Something different, thanks :thumleft:

I'll confirm a route this evening but that's looking like a good candidate.
In any case we'll be meeting somewhere in the Harties area and I'd like to leave as early as possible to beat the heat.

Can we say we depart 7am?
