I see you post on quite a few freds about the challenge and you are a dentist. So I had some work done on my teeth with Frans Grotepass. What an amazing guy to chat to. This is way off topic but you do get to the Cape now and then so try to meet him. Oops, way.way off topic.  :lamer:

Hi Noneking :) hoping for some advice. I'm signed up for this years challenge (1st one) and missed the lodging! So camping it is. I'm not new to GS biking but I am a complete noob at this camping thing, especially for the Sabie Challenge. Anybody done this before who can give me tips, do's and dont's and a campion know packing list!? REALLY appreciate the help! Greg

I have very basic camping setup.
Tent - duh
stretcher
Sleeping bag
Blow-up pillow
Tripod camping chair
Head light
Microfiber towel

Shorts, tshirts and flip-flops
Jean and thin jacket

Last year was very wet! Trailered bike there and ended up sleeping in my car. This year I was lucky to get a room

What an outstanding event! If I could sign up now for next year again I would! Massive thanks to my new friends that graciously accepted me into their group and let me ride with them! Sean, Dick, Piet, Danie, Hein and Werner - you guys are legends :)
