Was riding home the other night when the headlamps and other panel lights stopped working.( Some red panel light started flashing just prior to this, but was unable to see what it was before the shut down.) Had something similar happen previously when the stator burned out. Apparently circuits shut down when the battery isn't charging to conserve power?
Could this be a stator problem again and how would one test to establish whether the rectifier or stator is faulty.
Would also like to know if anyone could suggest a modification to the 2009 flywheel design which apparently was contributing to the stator windings overheating and has been rectified in later models?
