Hi Guys,
I'm considering breaking up my 2005 Dakar, with Yamaha front suspension (revalved/resprung for bikes weight + 90kg rider).
It used to run until I left it standing in the garage at work (I had a GSA 1150 + car so never rode it). It's been with Andrew @ Kingtech a couple times for service and then cleaning electrical contacts etc by solanoid under faux tank.
Its got:
Yamaha YZ450 front forks, excel front rim, YZ450 break rotor (would recommend upgrading to the supermoto disc/caliper for bikes weight, something I never got round to).
Bark busters (not in pic)
Trail tech vapour dash (got heat sensor, lost speed sensor a while back, can buy for cheap cheap)
Scorch exhaust (sounds mean!)
And then whatever else you see on the pics.
I have the original Dakar dash too (only the panel with electrics, the clear cover had a small crack down middle). This would be a good replacement for someone who has a clear cover lying handy.
Engine has approx 55 000Km on it. Full service history with BMW till 30 000km, then private). Water pump impeller/seals replaced near 40 000km. No crappy neck-bearings because Yamaha do thing properly O0
The reason I'm not selling it as a bike with papers was that it was never registered in my name properly (previous owner did not take it out of banks name first, then was uncontactable). It DOES have a new frame in the bike (bent after an accident along with forks) so you could register it in your name with police clearance certificate to mate engine number to new frame. I also dont have the time/energy to put its party dress on either, so fokkit. :lamer:
Only other major noteworth is the side of the engine got a crack in it from the frame being bent, but this has been professionally fixed at an engineering shop, and bike has been ridden fine for 5 000KM as such.
Who's interested in what? I'm open to offers for anything and can courier @ your cost too.
