For those following the thread and interested can follow our Dustybutt ride with the link. 5am tomorrow morning it will start to track our progress as we attempt to do 2500km in 36hrs on gravel.

The time is finally here for our big ride, I am super excited!

Daar is baie reen voorspel, so dit my grootste worry eintlik.

Vorige dustutt was met twee 1200GS'e...so no-pressure op KTM hier!

I will be dumping most of the photos in the RR.

Next up for me, after washing the bike. is to have the suspension sent away for progressives and revalve by Superfoxi. He actually also mentioned reworking the bumpstop on the rear so I guess that is also a must...
Then I will see what can be done with the wiring that needs to be fixed.

I plan to start stripping my suspension in this week or at least in the coming weekend. Does anyone have some vids or pics or a thread or tips on how to do that? I am guessing the forks shouldn't be the toughest, but I am a little concerned over the rear. Do I remove the swingarm?

Also, starting researching, anyone know of options to upgrade my headlamp? I read a lot on the Cyclops LEDs, but that's not available in South Africa. I started a thread on it as well to maybe get some fresh eyes. http://www.wilddog.za.net/forum/index.php?topic=208724.0

A semi good weekend for me! I managed to remove the suspension and I dont think it took even 2 hrs.
I started with the front and all went well till I had to loosen the stearing damper that clamps around the fork. A bit of a missi9n but after some contortionist escapades I won. Seems liie the shock that spilled most oil had a completely missplaced dust seal?

After that was the rear, I removed the wheel and then that one mudguard. Then saw its only the top and bottom bolt to remove-yap, I have never done something like this. Both were relatively easy though with my top off course being bent. (Bent bolt makes me feel like a normal 1190 rider now! If that makes sense...)
The bottom bolt was easy to get out also but the shock was stuck in its place. I asked around on whatsapp but seemed like I had to pry or hammer it out. I thought a bit and then had epiphany! Check the photo.

Oh and my bike looks like that after a wash.
Now I just need to tie up with superfoxi and get progressives fitted. Just wish I could get more travel as well.

Armpump that is after a wash, and I thought it was actually half decent wash but was also shocked at how dirty everything still was.

Here is a before pic. The darker bits is not wet mud but oil.
