Rest carrier

BMW SA  has replaced the rest carrier on my R12000GSA LC twice now due to metal fatigue. The metal tubing cracks. They tell me it is due to the fact that I do not use the panniers as well in conjunction with the topbox. The are staying that I am overloading my topbox. The contents of my topbox normally consists of a soft cooler bag with 6 x room I water bottled, a rain top, tyre puncture repair kit, very small compressor and my helmet carry bag. Plus/minus 4.5kg at the most. The guage of the metal of the carrier is paper thin. The bike transmits a large amount of vibration to the carry especially in dirt and with topbox on.  My previous air cooled GSA didn't suffer from this problem.
