I was rear ended yesterday....
« on: July 23, 2008, 08:06:04 am »
Yesterday after work, on way home, I stopped at a red traffic light. I was in my own lane. In the front.  Minding my own business. Then kaboef ‚?¶..an A-hole rear ended me. Lucky my bike was in neutral and I did not lose it and toppled over.

Getting off I was furious. Walking to the drivers side okes winds up his open window. Trying to get away.  Yanked the door open and took his car keys. Traffic started to pile up.  Count to ten. I asked him if he have a drivers licence‚?¶.

‚?Ěyes sir, I‚??m sorry sir‚?Ě

Give me your wallet I said. It was handed over to me. I put it in my pocket and told him to follow me to a quiet place where I going to murder him .

‚??Yes ok I will  but please do not hurt me‚?Ě Just follow me I said.

Arriving at the quiet parking lot. I had the first change to look at the damage. Some bend things here and there. After taking details and swopped cards I asked how will I know if he will pay for this damage. No answer from him so I asked for some collateral and he handed his expensive watch over. And no its not a fake chinese copy.... ;)

Taking the bike today to the dealer for a check out‚?¶..

Tsk‚?¶car drivers‚?¶tsk‚?¶

I have to ask though, how did you know when you arrived at the 'quiet place' that it was indeed quiet?

I had the same incident happen to me in the early 80's, a guy rode into the back of my Suzuki GS 750 at a robot, he apologised big time, told me he was checking out some chick on the pavement, then his wife gave him a klap for that........
Cost him a new taillight..... >:D

almost had the same happen to me the other day, at the red light.. luckily i checked my mirror, and saw the idiot behind me wasnt lookin at the road ahead, and almost hit me, i had to pull away 5m into the intersection infront of me,
i was die moer in....
and i turned around and asked him if he has eyeballs working?
he looked shocked.. i was then still die moer in..
then i looked in my mirror and saw him and his carpooler next to him laughing their asses off..
then as i put the bike on its sidestand i saw they looked very worried...
i told him he couldve bloody killed me..
and would he be laughing then???

bloody blind stupid cagers...

glad ur ok AMA... this sh1t happens often...

Geez Ama. Just glad he didn't hit you at speed.  So what's the damage?

So far it looks like the pannier frames took most of the knock. Will know later today of any hidden damage.

Clear thinking under a period od stress - well done. I like the action you took.
So how much do you want for the watch?  :imaposer:

Bly jy is oraait, en kon ten minste rondloop en die 'situasie' hanteer!!

Ek dink nie ek sou dit so kalm soos jy kon hanteer as ek agterkom die 'skuldige' is besig om te probeer wegkom nie...!
