I wonder if she can cut a proper "Mullet"? It'd be worth the trip from Kraaifontein

The Hill Street Hillbilly !

(Just guessing the street name as one of the other street names wouldn't fit into my alliteration joke).

I for one think she doesn't deserve to get the apology accepted. There is a huge difference in saying you feel like killing someone and actually trying to. I have friends that do that xommute daily.

She deserves to loose her license, same as someone caught for reckless riding.

There is no proof that she actually tried to kill anyone.  Only the boast of someone experiencing a blonde moment.
Exept for the description of the biker wobbling...

Just her description.  You have no idea if it actually happened, or whether she is just cheap bragging to her friends.  My guess?  Cheap, silly bragging of a figment of her imagination.

A short while ago we had a thread with a video of a person in a VW Microbus knocking a delivery biker over.  On purpose.  The poster of that video and thread starter was attacked by many, possibly the majority for posting it.  Not the driver of the VW.  No, many found excuses for him.  Why the difference?

I think the problem is that many people still view bikers as stereotype - the low-life scum they get portrayed as by a certain country's movies and series. They do not realize that it is just a certain sub-culture that does not even really exist. On top of that we have serious transport infrastructure problems that are highly conductive for road rage. I am not condoning cagers attitudes and actions, I am looking at the reasons for their jealous actions. Perhaps the only way we can fix it is by educating the masses that we are also people with jobs and families and careers, than happen to like riding on only 2 wheels.

People like this is the main reason I do not commute by bike anymore, especially around Cape Town. I rarely had major issues in GP and other places, but had too many attempts on my life in CT in only a couple of months. Honestly, the CT cagers scare me too much.

I hear what you are saying, but not all motorcyclists are above board and nice as you.
In a 'sting' recently (couple of years back next to Century city where they pulled off all bikes) the cop told me that over half of everyone didn't have a license and almost half the bikes that they pulled over weren't road worthy in some form or another.

There are also on this very forum quite a significant amount of people who still feel that breaking of a mirror is a justified response to a motorist being stupid/not looking/not seeing or just inadvertently causing a close call.

This girl was acting like an asshole, but lots of bikers isn't innocent either...

Am I seeing a mean, vicious streak emerging in Cape Town...?  :patch:

She was stupid to go public, she has suffered the consequences, got a big fright and paid the price.
She has apologised and we should recognise that.

Which strategy would do better to improve the communication between cagers and motorcyclists:
a) To respond like a mean wild biker bunch and intimidate her further, or;
b) To engage with her like her other clients and become friends?

Play nice, children.

Since so many Vaalies moved in !!  :peepwall:

We should take up on that haircut offer. We should go, and pay for it, like normal people. Show people that bikers are (mostly) normal people.

Eisbein had a few good points. If everyone stopped acting like cocks, both bikes and cars, our roads would be safer.
