Hello all bikers and people that I have pissed off with my reckless actions.
I would like to apologize for my comments and behavior regarding bikes.
I was unaware of law so had no right to comment.
I have had a bad month with the loss of a family member and juat a bad day in general so my moods are not as they should be my tolerance is low not that this is any excuse but I am honestly apologizing from the bottom of my heart for everyone I have offerended I am usually very vigilant of bikers as I lost my cousin on a bike accident last year.
I hope this message eases your minds I will on my behalf try my best to be more bike aware and supportive and maybe one day will be lucky enough to own one although I am myself petrified of bikes.
Apologizes from me I am extremely sorry.
You are all welcome to come give me a lecture but my lesson is learnt.

And if the biker died? then what?

Crocodile tears are pathetic.

I would also be scared.

What I've just added to her page... stupid cow

Quote
I strongly suggest you take out a double-page spread in the local papers, in which you apologise for your stupidity, inability to put your mind into gear before engaging your fingers, and spewing forth this type of crap.

Remember what happened to Penny Sparrow for her racist comments...?? this borders on that type of hate speech, along with premeditated murder or attempted murder.

Just a friendly word of warning... DO NOT PISS OF A BIKER! They tend to stand together much more than other folks.

Did you for one moment stop to think that the biker you tried to kill / knock off his / her bike or otherwise cause bodily harm, may well be the lawyer you desperately need to help you out of this shitstorm you've caused with your stupidity... or that he /she may be a doctor / specialist who would possibly have to operate on you at some stage of your pathetic little life, and help heal you? I didn't think so...

Not all bikers are rough, uncouth (do you know what that word means?) biker scum. In fact, those are very much in the minority; LARGE numbers of us are professional people; people who clearly have much more intelligence than you do...

...and to think you came from that one little sperm cell that won the race because it happened to be the strongest / fastest swimmer... ugh I shudder to think what any of the others would have produced.

I wish you a splendid day; a day in which you continue to soil your underwear in apprehension and terror of the possible outcome of your little rant.

Disclaimer: Malicious intent and all the rest aside - I am commenting on one aspect of what she said. Nothing less. Nothing more. (She should not be proud about her ignorance and certainly not think that she was within her rights). And boasting about it was stupid. (Although I believe from her apology that although now being educated, she probably said all of it not because she thinks bikers are right, but because she is scared. Probably think bikers are thugs now as well)

Anyway - here goes:

There was a part of what she said that resonated with me (something that I see happening daily). Apart from most bikes being in my opinion too fast for the circumstances to safely lane split, there is one thing that always irks me when I see it. We bitch and moan when drivers don't observe and indicate before making their moves, yet there are plenty guys who insist on passing a car that had its indicator on for a while. I have seen more close calls than what I care to imagine, just because some guy on a (mostly too fast) bike do not respect the intention of the guy in the car.
I just cannot understand how a guy on a bike can ride up to a car with its indicator on and then (while the car is getting closer to a gap in the lane that he wants to go to) still decide to just blindly pass on the side the gap is.

Mostly the car driver sees the bike, but then they might have lost the gap and feel frustrated about it. But maybe the guy in the car honestly didn't see the biker (from not watching or the biker coming too fast, or no headlight, or swerving from another lane or whatever) and then there is an issue.

My thinking about it is 'I've got the 'gap' all the time. The person in the car have a gap occasionally'.

If you approach a car with an indicator on and just blindly steam past without making sure then that is on you.

(And please read my disclaimer in the begin again - I'm not saying she is right - I am just commenting on one of the things she said)

More than once they start to indicate in advance, without space for the cage to move over, yet. In that case, I still go past  :deal:

Of course.

But I don't consider that 'blindly steaming past'

I commute everyday and have learned to read when a car is going to gun for me. I just let him go and get away from him.

Its just a fact that people in cars loose their shit when they sit in traffic jams and we come sauntering past to the front of the cue. Its totally inexplicable, because they are in any event going to sit there, whether we filter past or not. But it happens.

Avoid them
