LONG LASTING ROAD TYRE FOR MY GS LC???

1000 Km on the TKC 70 rear.
6000 Km on the Anlas Capra front.

I like this combo, haven't tried the TCK 70 on gravel, but it is great on tar. When I am back in SA, I will take it on a gravel trip.

I just bought a nice new rear tyre now, it's a Dunlop TrailSmart 170/60R17 from Neptune Tyres here in PE for R1,450-00 including fitment. I bought it and put it in the garage until my Tourance Next -  is finished, then Neptune Tyres will fit it for me. :thumleft:

Have a look at this excellent review:

Reminds me of an Anakee 2, which can't be a bad thing.

I am on 12000km on my back tyre and 21 000km on my front and have Tourance Next on both. I commute everyday in Cape Town and not scared to wind it when there is a gap. I also pull the odd wheelie just to give you an indication of my riding style. What I have found that kills back tyres is long trips at around 160km/h and dirt rides. The back wheel spins up and it starts to chunk. Michelin Anakee I got 10k out of the back and 13k on the front.
I got 4300km on my first back tyre :xxbah: :xxbah: :xxbah:

Or you could just fit a good Sport Touring road tire like a Bridgestone BT 023. I get around 13K on a rear on the NC700X, some guys get a lot more. You will not be disappointed. Right size is available for your bike.

I got 6500km on the BT 023 on my 390 Duke. Do not recommend.

Try get Michelin Pilot Street variant rather.

Hi Guys,
I am rather surprised at the Dunlops which some have fitted,,,,,,,,
When i was after a set of tires i went the "google " route & looked up Dunlop , as i was rather impressed with them on a previous bike.
I found the South African Dunlop site & did the online query , the one where you fill your bike details in etc,,,,,,,,,,,,
Anyhow i received a response from Dunlop SA within a few days informing me that there was no suitable Dunlop combination for my 2015 BMW R1200GSA ?????
So , i have been under the impression that there is nothing suitable from Dunlop for my Bike ???
Is this then an incorrect impression ? Do Dunlop make a set of tires that are suitable for use on the R1200 GSA LC & are suitable dual purpose tyres ?

In the end i got Donford to fit a set of Anakee 3's  ,,,, having removed a Heidenou K60 (rear) and Pirelli Rally knobby (front). The Heidi / Pirelli combo seemed ok, but i didn't trust it at all in the wet , or on wet surfaces.........
Regs,
Jon
