Frugal 690
« on: February 08, 2017, 08:10:07 am »
I've been using my 690 to commute between PTA and JHB and I am quite pleasantly surprised by how light on fuel it is if you ride it sensibly. I've consistently been getting about 27 km/l! That's around 260kms before the reserve light comes on on the stock tank

*My commute is about 120km of which 80km is highway ridden at 100-110km/h when traffic is flowing and much slower when it's congested

And yet it can go down to 15km/l in the sand or blasting gravell

For sure. I've run into reserve on the stock plus long range tanks at ~300km.

I just need to get the leak on the one tank fixed which will then allow me to almost do a full weeks commute without refueling

My 690 Duke on the short commute I do gets around 22 km/l. This past weekend I took it long road to Nieu Bethseda.... on the way there varying throttle useage saw 27/28 kays to a litre which I was surprised about... on the way back I was pinning it more and got around 25km/l. Very impressed with the fuel consumption considering the power these little motors have
