My Bushlander doesn't have a lot of mileage on for its age but it works hard and after 5500km I need to replace the chain and sprockets, get a new set of tyres and thought I'd spoil the bike and get a big service done at Honda George.
I normally service it myself (oil, air filter, lube cables and other points, wash, adjust). While I have never done it before, I guess I could adjust valve clearances and the like. To be honest though, I wanted to have an agent fit the tyres, the chain and sprockets and give the bike a good going over as I don't get near a dealer that often.
So, to cut a long story short: does around R2K for chain and sprockets sound about right? Does around R2K for front and back tyre sound right and would a major service for the bike cost about R1K?
If you guys have any suggestions on reducing those costs, your advice and input would be much appreciated.
