I'm considering buying an F800GS as an upgrade to my F650GS Dakar. Was also in an accident with the 650 and think it will be a write off, so might be a good use of the insurance pay out!
What should I be on the lookout for when buying one second hand? I love the circa 2011 Lava Orange and have seen a couple good deals in the past. Also some good deals on older 2009 models. Is there a reason to avoid older original 2009 bikes? Is there any particular gain going 2011-2013 or post 2013 face lift bikes?
Is there much change in fuel consumption on newer models? As I commute a fair bit with the bike.
