World Supersport - Sheridan Morais.

Well done Shez.  Not a bad showing.

Running a nice 7th when the race was red flagged.  In the restarted race he again made up some places and thanks to a crash or so up ahead was back in 7th when his bike cut out just before the finish.  He finished 11th.  After the crap luck he had all weekend with mechanical failures galore this is a great ressult.  Looking forward to seeing him in a podium position or two.

Was also GREAT to to be able to watch round one the SBK's...even though it it's a lot of the same as last year  :-\ ...anyway, better to have them back than the last couple of months without any international bike racing...  :deal:

Looks like another year of Kawasaki/Ducati challenges and hey!!!...a good showing from the Yamaha of Lowes  and not to mention the brilliant performance of Melandri after a year long lay off!  ;D

Also enjoyed the SBK and allthough it seems Kawa and Ducati will rule the roost again, it does look as if Lowes on the Yami and Melandri will throw a spanner in the works of the established pecking order.  Also keep an eye out on Camier on the MV Augusta.  He bet he is good for a lekker upset or two this year.

I like the "engineered" grid for race 2.  It does make for some exciting racing.

Also looking forward to the WSS300 class joining the fray once they hit Europe.  Always enjoyed the wee bikes and young riders in the similar class here in SA.

BEAR...is it known whether the WSS 300 races in Europe will be broadcasted on DSTV?

I certainly hope so, but I have no confirmation at this stage.  There are three young Saffers in that class, so it will be interesting to follow.

Well done to Sheridan for coming 6th in the WSS race at the second round in Thailand...  :thumleft: :thumleft: :thumleft:

Seems at this stage that J Rea will sukkel NOT to win the championship again this year, as he has won the first 4 races of the season literally on the trot. It was quite boring with race 1 yesterday where the bikes were spread out and no real dices... race 2 today saw some excitement with the race red flagged and re-started...but it was again Kawasaki vs Ducati. Encouraging to see Melandri on the Ducati giving the Kawa's quite a tough time for the greater part of the race...and beating his team mate in race 2.  :eek7:

Thought that Chaz Davies would be more cautious this year,  :patch: but he was up to his old tricks again yesterday by crashing out in race 2, however, made up for it with a nice dice from back of the grid to 6th place after the re-start.

Anyhow...although a lot of the same as last year...it's  good to have them back in our living rooms...  :ricky:

Ja.  Nice to have a Saffer in the race to root for.  His team is still using the older R6, but will have the new 2017 R6 available at the first race in Europe, the next race in other words.  As it is they are reasonably competitive, so if they can make the new R6 work, we can look forward to seeing Shez on the podium a time or two.  Let us hold thumbs!

The Superbikes, up front is a bit same old, same old, but it is nice to watch the non-factory teams like Yamaha, MV Augusta and BMW duke it out.  The Race 2 mixed grid also makes things a tad more interesting..
