This on Moto 101 from a co-racer:

https://www.moto101.co.za/moto101-general/46559-fatality-baja-amageza.html

"The rider was Gary Rowley and one of our team mates was the first to come upon him and Gary passed away in his arms. It was classic heat exhaustion and dehidration apparently.

I think there is another MSA COI coming like with the Roof last year- the race organisation had two 2x4 ambulances to cover a course of 400 km in 40 deg heat over some really hectic dunes. And the satellite trackers we were given were some new cheap sort with no SOS button. One of the passing riders had a sat phone and made a call to the organisers and it still took them 2 hours to reach the distressed rider, who by then had died.

I cannot see how it is legal to not have had any helicopter support or trackers with no SOS button, I think the outcome of this will unfortunately be very bad for the sport of moto rallye in our country."

RIP mate - my condolences to you and your family...

Sjoe not nice! Can't imagine how the guy who found him feels.

My thoughts are with the family at this difficult time!
