I must add, the judgement you get when trying to sell a bike that was actually used is a joke. People will ask why is the crashbars scratched, how much dirt you have done and why certain stuff like lights have been replaced with LED solid stuff which is rattle proof. Or where is the poopscoop. My GS's have been good deals but still I had to take at least a R10k knock each time as the adventure bike was actually used as an adventure bike and have done some kilos.

The reason I sold my 800 Adv was when I realised that I had not even seen it in 7 weeks, never mind ridden it.  R140k standing collecting dust is not good financial sense.  I peruse the for sale section here regularly looking at 800s, 660Zs, the new Africa Twin and so on.  I even sat on the AT at Honda George recently. My heart beats faster, I envision lonely rides off into the sunset, see myself camping alongside the Orange River in the Richtersveld...  Then reality kicks in and I realise that I just don't have the time to do these things.

I will probably soon buy an 800 or 660Z soon but will certainly not pay R80k or R100k for a bike to sit in my garage again.  I get my biking fix from my little Bushlander that I ride every single day, it gives me a kick and I imagine myself off on an awesome adventure again. Sigh .....  :-\

Dit het beter gegaan toe my pa vir my gesorg het  :lol8:

The real problem lies with people not owning the right bikes for them.

If I had a GS1200 in my garage, I would also not feel like riding.

Overlooking the BMW jab, this is a real problem, a motorcycle, unlike your family saloon, should really make you feel like a youngster, wanting to ride more than anything else.

Once a bike make you feel like that, you'll be surprised to see how much time you can "make".

Wens ek kon so bietjie gaan rondrits, ek mis dit iets vreesliks. :lol8:
