So not to beat a dead horse with a stick, I know this has propbably been discussed before...
But why is the 990 R rated as the better bike by so many? I would like to hear specifically from guys who have bought an 1190, and then sold it and went back to the 990?
The 1190's suspension can be upgraded to the same level, but have less travel I know. But then, the 990's front suspension also needs an upgrade.
A quick google says the 990 is only 3kg lighter, thats nothing.
I do not think the 990 is more reliable (once the 1190 airfilter is sorted) and the 990 also needs a rim upgrade.
Is it because the 990 feels older, you are thus less afraid of breaking it and therefore have more confidence to push harder?
suspension travel and ground clearance, thats it, the only pro to a 990 and a lot of cons otherwise. and is the difference so big after both have been upgraded?
why would you pay R125k for a 2012 990R and not 135k for a 2013 1190 R?
