It's Easter and many Wild Dogs members will be on the road this weekend. On the Route 62 between Ladismith and Calitzdorp one drives over the impressive Huisrivier Pass. Mostly no-one notices the pioneering engineering work that went into the construction of this complex pass, where several new engineering techniques were invented, which set the bar at the time and are today accepted 'best practice' methods for modern road engineering.

The late Dr. Graham Ross was the chief engineer on this job and he was also the person who mentored us through the first two years when we started the MPSA project. You will find the story behind the construction fascinating.

The link below takes you to our latest news page and from there you can access the Huisrivier Pass page. We will keep the page "open" to non-subscribers for the weekend, so have a look and enjoy the videos. This is a favourite pass with bikers for its nicely banked corners and spectacular scenery.
