On my last delivery yesterday the water was running right over my shoes in Margate and I thought it bad!
You guys place ok though?

We had about 40mm of rain, not more than a couple of km from some of the flooding. All fine thanks Hennie

It must have come down fast to cause that flooding!
Have you ever been caught on those forestry roads during one of those downpours? Scary stuff!

Curious..........how much of that water flow is from blocked rain-water drains?

Never hesitate to take that ride. Ride safe, ride often and ride far. The soul demands it.

I think you've hit the nail squarely on the head... lack of sanitation / street-sweeping, coupled with the fact that so many people just chuck their rubbish on the ground, causes the storm-water drains to block.

No. Not a pedestrian area at all. It is the R40 between Nelspruit and White River. Very very busy road. Just think the rain came down like seldom before.

Guys, as per the article linked, this was a massive storm. Several areas were flooded due to heavy downpour.
Shops elsewhere in town flooded as small steams and rivers burst their banks.
