Removal of hand guards

Has anyone found a quick way of removing and refitting the hand guards from the handle bars when you want to replace or lubricate the clutch cable ?

There is lots of potential to break the guard when removing or refitting, and I believe they are quite pricey to replace

The very informative workshop manual simply says "Remove bolt A. Remove bolt B
