1190 headlight upgrade?
« on: April 18, 2017, 12:50:46 pm »
So I hear a lot about fitting the Cyclops bulps, but that's not available in our merry RSA. Have anyone upgraded their bulps? What options do I have?

I know spotlights is a good and easier fix for the bad lights, and I have a good spotlight setup, but I would like to connect them to the brights wire, and I am going to have to open up the lights-unit to do that, so I can then just as well upgrade the bulps. I am also concidering moving the acc1 and 2 connectors to somewhere where its actually usable while its opened up.

Way back in the day - RAD fitted HID lights (inside my headlight) to my 1190 - maybe give them a ring.  was worth every cent

I will look at normal HIDs then. forgot about it actually.
Just wondering if they don't emit to much heat, the whole light setup does not seem very well ventilated

Why not just import the cyclops kit?
Easy to buy off their website, it's plug and play, comes with all the right connectors and heat sinks, instructions the lot.
I bought my 1190 kit from them, way money well spent.

How much did it work out in the end, all included?

Man I am afraid of overseas online shopping, I get trigger happy sometimes and there just is to many options then!

Must have bought them 18 months back.
Think I paid around R2500 for the kit.
They worth it.
