Hoezit almal,
This is not my first post, but to introduce myself and my scooter. I joined in Feb, but waited till today before I posted anything.
I have had Groenie just over a year now and must say KLRs RULE! Not the best bike in any category, but the adequate performance, and somethimes more than, in so many categories make it the best value for money there is.
I ride mostly between work (Sandton) and back (Centurion) but enjoy my Sunday excursions on any dirt road I can find. Groenie now has 20K kms since new with no hassles at all. Of course a KLR gets lighter the further you ride, coz everything rattles loose. TGFLC (Thank God for LockTite)
Mods I've made:
Scott Oiler
Proper hand protection
new front fender - improved stability quite a bit
12v Lighter plug - didn't work, rattled loose and got lost, but working on a replacment
Home built "Harley pegs" - curse the word
Home built aluminium bash plate - stole idea from HT et al.
and some more I can't think of now....
Things to do:
Doohickey - ordered today
Flashing strobe light - so the f-kers in the cages see me. Nearly got killed by one 7 weeks ago and got away with just a broken knee. Lucky???
Upgrade front brakes - SS brake line and bigger disk
12v outlet - 2nd try
Now for the difficult part, getting a pic to appear.....
