Hi all,
I was heading out on an errand yesterday and about a kilometer from my house my 2002 F650GS Dakar did a few splutters and then died. She wouldn't start again. Starter was turning but wouldn't fire.
After an uphill push home, I stripped off some covers etc.
I disconnected the fuel hose at the injector and hit the starter .... no problem there.
I put a few drops of fuel in the 'carb' ... Still nothing
I figured fuel wasn't the problem.
Pulled out the plug, stuck it in the plug cap put it against the cylinder. Nothing
Tried another plug ... one spark, then nothing.
I figured it must be an electrical/spark issue. Any suggestions on the process to troubleshoot from here.
