His department has also circulated UK local authorities on the use of bus lanes by motorcycles and scooters â?? which is not only legal in Britain but encouraged by the authorities.
Stop right there: It's illegal for motorcycles and scooters to use dedicated bus lanes in South Africa but it makes more sense than you'd think - buses, unlike most vehicles on SA roads, are driven by professional drivers who are more qualified to share road space with bikes than most.
