I went for a quick ride with a buddy this Sunday. I met up with Rick at a local gas station on his DR 650 around 5:30 AM to beat the Arizona heat and we headed out towards an area known as Queen Valley.

We stopped at a gate, but needed a State Land Recreational Permit to continue so we turned around. The permit is $50 per year and you are not allowed on the trails during High Pollution Advisory days

The desert was unusually green for this time of the year however the roads were extremely dusty.

We ended up in a dry riverbed for about 5 miles but it felt like 50

The Green Machine

While we were taking a break where the two pictures above were taken, we heard a few rifle shots and a couple of 22 caliber billet ricochetting off some rocks nearby :yikes:
This was the first emergency use of my Stebel horn and the loud Jardine exhaust to get some attention. We saddled up and got out of there fairly quickly.
Airing up to head home

We were back home by 10AM after about 70 miles and some great riding !
