Drain the main and aux tank
Remove brackets and hose for aux tank
Remove seat
Remove lower tank bolts and loosen the top tank ones
Flip the main tank up and tie it up with a strap to the handlebars (so that it does not fall on your head)
Remove the four bolts at the bottom of the tank and pull out the spacer plate with the bracket.
The fuel pump is loose in the plastic piece which is pushed through the spacer plate. (the plate that the aux tank fuel line is fitted to.)
Remove the spacer plate
Put the fuel pump back into the plastic piece and shove that into the tank.
Fasten the plastic piece to the tank with shorter bolts (I cannot remember the length they should be)
Tighten the tank to the frame again and put the seat back.

Its something like that to get it off

The bolts you need are: HH COLLAR SCREW M5X16 TX30

Be careful when you lift the tank that you do not damage the wires/plug for the airbox temperature plug (left hand side back of the airbox).

Support tank like this:
KTM 500 XCW, Husqvarna 701, KTM 1190 Adventure

I remove the fuel pump by only removing the mud splash cover
