That ONE motorcycle you miss.

I was talking to a friend about motorcycles and what he should be getting next. He wants a bike that can commute, do some nice touring, long hauls, but he wants it reliable but also do the odd dirt roads etc.

I told him about the small DS bikes and even though he seems keen he wanted a bit more. I discussed with him my Transalp, the NC, my F800GS, My 1200GS etc etc.
I kept going back to my 2012 Vstrom 650 and he noted how I seemed to have loved that bike even though I've got a 1200GS LC now .
He asked why I got rid of it.
I told him that I don;t really know. I remember wanting a 21" front more dirt worthy. Looking back I could have slapped some TKC 80's on it and kept going.

I realize from all my bikes the Vstrom is the  one I really miss dearly. I liked the feeling I had when I rode that bike, what it felt like , a face only a mother could love, it was just a fantastic, smooth dependable bike.
