Dr Phil… please help me with my 2 year itch
« on: June 09, 2017, 11:09:20 am »
So with marriage it’s supposed to be the 7 year itch but with bikes, I get a serious dose of 2 year itch. I thought I’d avoid it with my KTM690 because I’ve really enjoyed this bike so much but alas, I’ve only been able to extend it by another 6 months and the damn rash is back and has me scratching like crazy  :o

It’s not like I can afford a new bike, but I find myself looking enviously looking and others and reading through specs sheets when I shouldn’t. Sometimes I even look and dirty magazines like “Dirt & Trail” to satisfy my evil lust  fapfap I even blow tons of data reading ride reports on pretty little underpowered bikes like the Honda CRF250Rally just to get my scratch fix for the day  :amazon:

I’m even finding ways of justifying spending an extra R50K just to upgrade from my 690 to the new Husky 701 which is essentially almost the same damn bike… WTF, I need help Dr Phil  :help:

Please tell me I’m not the only one out there with this problem???
Present bikes: BETA 300RR, KTM 690, Yamaha WR250F

Ohhh... and don't think it's only the 690, there's 3 other bikes hiding in the garage that are at severe risk at the moment, even the missus's bike isn't safe  :eek7:

It is incurable. I have been in rehabilitation for a month. Its not helping and I'm looking very much forward to the treatment failing.

Just give it up and get the bike

You need to understand how bad this is... I've even considered buying a fuktup old scooter to restore just so there's some new colour in the garage  :( :o :-[ I don't even need a frikkin scooter  :-\

I have the same same problem, but mine(my bike) found out about my intentions and reprimanded me all over a gravel road, I will have to be more careful now and peruse the classifieds in secret .

The worse mistake you can make is throwing money at your existing bike in order to force yourself to keep it :imaposer: :imaposer:

Oh, and i'm planning another one - maybe a replacement before this year is over.   :occasion1:

It would appear by the responses that the Wilddogs might not be the best place to search for advice on this... who knew?  ::)
