I grew up in Bloem, (Left in 1982) and have family and friends there, but have never taken my bike.
Although I can ride dirt roads, they do get a bit boring for me after a while if they are gravel highways.
Are there some nice adventurous riding areas in close proximity to the town?
(Apart from riding up Navel Hill

Or is the main part of the trip just getting there?
Are public allowed to ride there or must you know the farmers in an area?
And is is worth going in the winter? I thinking of views etc.
(I don't mind a bit of cold, cycled to school till Matric in the good old days)
