Is this also for Ducati SCRAMBLER? Because that is a separate entity..

All of the Ducati Group - the deal is still not confirmed 100% but even if it is true it has been stated they will remain separate brands.

There are a few interested parties in purchasing the brand from VW.

Lets hope this work out better for Ducati than it did for Buell

I remember them saying "They are going to focus on their core clients and business". Which is the cruiser market and not racing and sports bikes (ie. the end of Buell)

A while back, when Harley Davidson owned Aermacchi they had a short, but successful while it lasted period of Grand Prix racing. Even won a lightweight class world championship if I remember.

Imagine that, "Harley Davidson" and "lightweight" in the same context!

"Aermacchi began producing motorcycles after World War II.

In 1960, US business Harley-Davidson motorcycles purchased 50% of Aermacchi's motorcycle division.
The remaining motorcycle holdings were sold in 1974 to AMF-Harley-Davidson, with motorcycles continuing to be made at Varese.
The business was sold to Cagiva in 1978."

Aermacchi, like Buell, was seemingly strangled by HD.
