Good day. The fookin Suzuki is starting again. The activation pin on the clutch was stuck and eventually broke of, probably of all the dust and water in it. I just bypassed, by connecting the two wires with a normal fuse, will have to replace it sometime. Thanks for Rypert that organized the ride, it was an excellent day.

It was my first wilddog trip and I am thinking of getting a Ktm 990 one day if finances and wife permits it. Will definitely go on another expedition with you guys. I had a lot of fun.

Thanks again.
Trust that little voice in your head that says 'Wouldn't it be interesting if...'; And then do it.

Once started and underway  ;D I was impressed with the speed that the DL could get up to.

Probably the fastest 650 on the market today  :o :thumleft:

I am not made to be a pack leader  ::) I am much more a planner and back marker. I felt quite awkward up front on the smallest bike with a whole bunch behind on beeeg bikes and with many years more experience than me.

And I have to admit I enjoy having shapely ladies in front of me.  ;D

Thanks for a great ride, have not been out for a few weeks, so really looked forward to the day. I had to leave early to go to the rugby, so missed the rock, which was dissapointing. Trying to attached a few pictures without success. Hope these come out.

yup,  it's him.

he left the rock with me,  GRIM, and GRIM'S mate,
and went through the begining section of dewildt,  from the road up to the water tower and over to the police station.
he did some impressive riding on the TA.
only 1 fall over,  and no damage to speak of.

Aaiirree Rasta!!!

Gotta say i am mightily impressed with the TA...or maybe its roek's riding.

certainly the naysayers that it aint capable ,19 wheel etc etc have been proved wrong. that bike goes well in the dirt.

+1 Goes very well in dirt.

The 19" wheel thing has been blown out of proportion. GS's have been going everywhere with 19" wheels for years. No-one can claim that it is not a very capable bike.

Generally those who knock it have not even tried it.

What a lekke day it was...

Impressed with/enjoyed the most:
- Gunda's speed as leader of the pack.  Not at all as slow as he always claims to be.   :thumleft:
- The Rock:  This is what I love about the whole gravel travel thing combined with wilddogs.  Would never ever have known about the place if it wasn't for this forum.  And what a great view from the top.  Thanks for organising, Ryperd.
- The trip back:  Ganjora, Grim and Gavin - thanks for the exciting trip back home and for all the tips and tricks shared.  Dropped my bike for the first time   :-[ , but 2 squirts of superglue fixed the plastic flicker cover that popped off.  Not a scratch anywhere else.

Got karked on a little by a local at the shebeen for drinking a Castle Lite quart.  Obviously not a man's beer in that part of the world.  ;D

Since Roek said lekka things about me, let me return the compliment, but this is honest  ;D

I've watched Roek and that TA on three rides. I am specially interested as my partner Jaco just bought one and I wanted to see how it behaves on gravel. Jaco has never been on gravel on his - wife veto  ::)

I think it has a lot to do with Roek as well as the bike. Watched the pair on the training day making all the obstacles look easy.

I think the bike's critics should take a good look and see. I am impressed.
