AFRICA TWIN - HEPCO & BECKER - TOURATECH
« on: August 02, 2006, 08:33:45 pm »
Hi lovers of the LEGEND
There is never a need to redesign the wheel i feel.
I need to update my wish list for my Lady
I need to get crash Bars
I need to get a GPS bracket
I need to one day in the future get panniers
Now your personal feeling on the two title companies what should I look at and if possible why?
For instance crash bars I hear that the Becker's is cool but is there different types?
the GPS I hear Touratech but there is also Ram-mount
The panniers I feel Ill build myself or buy that BIG TOURATECH BAG.
I need somthing to make a choice with.

Nobody can be exactly like me. Sometimes even I have trouble doing it.

Spend the big money and get a Touratech cradle on a Ram Mount for your Geepo.
I have a cross bar on the Pro Taper SE bars and the mount clamps securely on there, if I didnt I would be tempted to put a Ram ball mount on.

Crashbars - Becker
GPS bracket - Ram Mount with TT cradle just like shark said
Panniers - The TT ones look nicest but they dent fairly easily (simple to panelbeat though) TT racks are very strong.

panniers are easy to build yourself but those TT racks are pretty awesome. Lightweight, strong, and made to fit

Some pics re thr T Tech crashbar protection. Not a scratch on the covers or tank. The only tank dam. was done by the left handle as it bent down.

Onlangs? Eish!
