Through my EXTENSIVE search for the best luggage - I have grown VERY fond of Enduristan stuff. For your purpose, the Blizzard L would work brilliantly.

BUT if you need 50odd L, you'll have to look at Giantloop Great Basin Or Coyote.

IF you have thr money, importing MoskoMoto is also a great option! Alternatively get luggage racks and fit the Enduristan Monsoon 3's.

Wolfman is good also, but so expensive I haven't been able to even get a quote.

we stock the Giant Loop range, and have both Coyote, as well as the Great Basin, in stock...

I feel the Great Basin would be on the large side for a 690/701, but would fit.

Adding some pics of 701 with Giant Loop and ALTRider luggage here...

We also stock ALTRider Hemisphere system - either with the bag included, or JUST the holsters, which you then fill with dry bags (which we stock, differing sizes...)

Giant Loop Coyote is now available in ROLL TOP (launched a few weeks back...), and we still have stock of the ZIPPED model, same price, etc.
They are supplied with the 3 inner waterproof 'pods', and a supplied heat shield.

Wolfman no longer available in SA, unless anyone corrects me on this.

My prefered option is Mosko Moto Rekless 40 or 80. Unfortunatelly they are not available localy, have to be imported from US and are expensive (the duties and VAT will cost additional 44% or so).

The only localy available backbone holster luggage (the same system as Mosko Moto, and IMO the best system available anywhere) is Altrider Hemisphere (holster only) that Chris Flying Brick has posted here. So I would go for that one (actually I did and bought one to complement my Mosko Moto if mate comes over for a ride from Europe).

25L; we stock two sizes, 20L and 25L, the 25L is my preffered choice, since any volume you do NOT use you just fold down.
And the 25L is from ATG, it can acutally CARRY water (we tried for a customer as a fun test!), and it is marked Ultra-Light, which it is, but we feel it is also stronger than the Truckers' Tarp type (20L) which are in any case more expensive.
25L ATG 75d PU ripstop = R320 each
20L Truckers Tarp/Vinyl = R399 each.
Cheers

Great thanks  :thumleft: Could you give us a price on those Alt Rider holsters as well please? I'm looking at the most cost effective solution for myself as I already have a 40l and 50l ATG dry bag plus a smaller tail bag from PK so it doesn't make sense to purchase the full Giant Loop type setup... unless I sell the other bags.

Those Enduristan bags look the business ktmkobus but at 4.5K they're a bit steep  :thumleft:

They're M.  :thumleft:

The Blizzard Medium (or possibly large) with a duffel bag on top looks ideal.

What I don't like about the GL or similar U bags is that they interfere with the fuel filler, and they're also difficult to fill efficiently when carrying sleeping bag and Thermarest.

What I like most is the security the fixing method brings.  You never have to look back to see if it moved out of place.

The duffel bag (Enduristan Basepack 6.5 in this instance) also interfere with the filler cap, but 4 quick release clips and you're sorted.

The price quoted earlier might be slightly overstated, but I can't comment with certainty on behalf of the supplier.  I bought at a time where a bottle holder was part of the special as well, and ordered another to have 2 liters of water on hand.  (Although the one is always a whiskey premix just in case. )
