Our mate Johan Nieuwoudt (Bushtrotter) had an off in the Molopo River section between Molopo Lodge in Askham and van Zyls Rus on sunday on our way back to Kuruman after the Koes Rally. Rooi and myself recovered his bike on Monday and brought it back to Pretoria together with his clothes and toiletries.
He has suffered 9 broken ribs and a punctured lung and was firstly admitted to a private clinic in Kathu before being transported to the care of a thoracic surgeon at Gariep Mediclinic Hospital in McDougal street Kimberley. He was supposed to be operated on today.
He has no other clothes with him other than his riding gear.
It is difficult to reach out to him on his cellphone and we have not heard any news today about his condition and wellbeing
We are reaching out to wilddogs in the area to assist with maybe taking him a pair of jocks, short pants, a t shirt and some slops
He is medium sized - maybe a large t-shirt
Also some basic toiletries I am sure will be appreciated.
I will carry the cost of the items
If there is any-one that can assist as a matter of urgency it will be helpfull.
Any new first hand news about his wellbeing will be greatly appreciated
