I'll start a thread under "planning a ride" early next year to assist you getting ready.
This is a bucket list event if you are a fit, 500/650/690/701 rider with a sense of adventure - it is completely do-able, I'm 52 yo (then 53) on a 650, and there was not a section I couldn't do.
What you can expect:
Lots of daily km's in awesome terrain that is considered DS heaven by a lot of riders, bonus: terrain you would normally only dream about riding
You can even bring the wife - they can go for a jaunt in a 4x4 - lots of interesting spectating to be had, allowing them to share your passion and also experience the Tankwa.
Great camping, awesome vibe and "gees".
You can come, be part of what is shaping to be an iconic race, and have the opportunity to do the whole race course.
Even if you come for the adventure and the pure thrill of riding the terrain, to finish the ride, you will unintentionally do well in the race.
Get your bike and gear sorted, get fit, and make a plan, you will not be disappointed, guaranteed!!
