Sub...would be interested to see.

Sounds like the old Audi trick of 2010ish where depending on the ABS unit fitted you could just do a software upgrade and have free tyre pressure monitors

Phoned my dealer about this some 3 months ago. No way this can be done as an upgrade via software only

Dalk moet ons ander dealer navraag doen. Myne is dalk nie die heel meeste op datum met alles nie. Antwoord mag dalk verskil as ons iemand anders vra?

Apparently it is a software upgrade in Europe. Surely we should be able to get it done locally also?

Software part number is 77 23 8 536 874. Price was $229.22 and $105 for labor (min 1 hour charge) plus tax.

try above

If you have driven any of the new BMWs or VWs they also have it. Basically it holds the bike/car in place using the brakes and automatically releases once you pull away.

I think it would be quite handy on the bike.

haha must be a KTM rider.  :imaposer:
Im a newbie to the biking world but i have noticed how KTM riders seem to hate BMW's. Reminds me of the toyota vs Landy or Ford with Rapter stickers vs any other brand in the 4x4ing world.

If they come up with sand assist also I will also have one please.

Nope , no KTM's for me , an XR600R and XT600E fill my garage , but perhaps it would be more beneficial to improve skills , what happens when the hill assist , ABS or traction control fails , that is when skill overcome's all

That comment was aimed at ktmmer
Yes thats what all the traditionalists say in the 4x4ing world when speaking of the modern modes or traction control systems some modern vehicles have - they prefer the old fashioned clunk of the low ratio gear lever instead of a button. I even get those sorts of comments in racing where some of the older drivers say you dont need ABS in a race car, for example, as its all about the skill.......

Its not about skill. Its a nice to have........its just like the gear shift assist thingy-ma-bob which is also lekka to have. If it stops working then you ride the old fashioned way until you get it fixed. It also does not have to be used all the time. You activate it when you need or want to.

PS. I also like the cruise control  ;)

Each to their own but when needed ABS will save you no matter how much skill you have.

That DCT is a nice looking bike with lots of gizmos also.

Agreed , but when riders get so used to riding with all the rider aids and they fail then you tend to have accidents , it is all very well but it removes the skill level from the rider and transfers it to electronics .
When I rode the DCT the traction control was off , ABS couldn't be switched off altogether though , the DCT gearbox is magic when commuting , but I prefer the standard model for dirt riding , different strokes for different folk
