I now feel like the farmer who, for this trouble, ended up with only a seperator and a bull.
I am replacing the chain on my F800GS with a BMW original. I then duly bought the MotionPro breaker and riveting tool. Now I realise that the master link supplied by BMW has solid pins, and the MotionPro can only rivet hollow head pins. From a search on the forum it appears that MotionPro previously provided a special plate to rivet solid pins, and I suspect they discontinued that as significant force is needed to rivet a solid pin. Will it be possible to get a hollow pin master link, or is there a way to rivet the solid pin properly ?
