We live in interesting times, at some point you may have to legally restrain a suspect, both for your safety and do it in such a manner that the suspect is not harmed.

Best practice is usually a set of good handcuffs for the hands, and leg irons for the leg.

As ankles are usually have a bigger diameter than a wrist, a larger diameter cuff is necessary.

Using handcuffs is not a good idea as they may not be able to cuff prisoners with Cankles J  (Ankles for calves) and the short handcuff chain means you will have to carry the prisoner.

Our Leg Irons are intended for just that: Restraining Prisoners and still allowing limited movement.

This is to ensure your safety and restrain the prisoner without injury and allow transportation.

If the prisoner is hurt or killed during an escape attempt, it has all sorts of implications for those who performed the arrest.

We have supplied our Leg Irons both to SAPS and security organisations. Some of which are many hours away from a police station or simply the police do not respond and the suspect has to be transported to the police station.
