Each Thursday we feature a noteworthy pass somewhere in South Africa. Today we explore the winding road (a mix of broken tar and gravel) up a steep and convoluted kloof near Nottingham Road to the Highmoor Nature Reserve at the mountain summit and plateau, where there are a range of interesting activities to keep the adventurer in you occupied - from trout fishing, hiking, mountain biking, and camping to cave exploration (Highmoor is reputed to have the finest collection of San rock art in South Africa).
In our news release we also pay a visit to the three main farms in the southern Cederberg and take a closer look at the new generation of farmers and some of the smart innovations utilized, which include running their farms off the grid, to very good craft breweries and of course some of the greatest Shiraz you will find.
