Chapman's Peak Drive - Breaking the records
« on: August 24, 2017, 05:18:09 pm »
Easily Cape Town's most famous pass, Chapman's Peak Drive has an amazing story which dates back to 1910 and goes down in history as one of the most troublesome roads in South Africa, where unstable rock faces have forced the closure of the pass many times - and once for longer than 3 years. The magnificent mountain drive offers so much to the traveller. We refilmed it a few weeks back and produced a brand new 3 part video series which you can access via this link: http://bit.ly/2vqUFFx

The videos cover the full history of the pass from 1910 to 2017 from Merc's plunging over 80m high cliffs to BMW's that don't - from gravel to tar and from free to tolled. Grab it it whilst the page is open until Sunday 27th August.

Interesting bit of info re the Mercedes/Chappies TV ad ... the film crew used a BMW 3 Series for (presumably some of) the in-car footage.
