Are there any other bikers with this foot peg setup?

It is old school.  Not a favorite with pillions though.  Imagine your knees moving with each bump on a gravel road  :o

Do the tires!!  It is also a light bike like my 250.  I bought a D909 from Flying Brick for the same money as a MX tire.  The best bleedin' tire EVER.  For hand guards I bought some cheap plastic guards from startline.  I prefer flexible guards to the metal type.

Researching knobbies as we speak. I have to order a front brake switch, but waiting on a new part number from Yamaha. After that get it on my name, new seat cover, knobbies and handguards. Tires is a priority, went riding some gravel hills now, but I just can't shake that constant reminder of the slippery tyres.

Great stuff, for some reason it feels very special riding around on an old school 2 stroke. Got to do some sand last weekend, and even with the road based tyres it faired quite well in the extremely loose stuff. Made the mistake once of stopping in the middle of the snad pit, and what a mission it was to get going.

My parents joined with my dads drone. Check out the video. See Youtube link below. It is uploaded in 4k so feel free to push the quality up.

Reading this (and watching the movie) makes me miss the good old days on the farm with 2 stroke filling your nostrils!  Congratulations on a nice buy / bike!  Really mint condition.

No Quarry ride for me tomorrow unfortunately, have to run some errands and have mates coming around for a braai.
But hope to see you in the Quarry soon Brinkman.
