The taste of blood
« on: September 14, 2017, 02:12:19 pm »

In our weekly news release we take you to a small, but steep gravel pass in the heart of the Namaqualand flower route. Locals called it the Bloedsmaak Pass (as we explain in the link) but officially it carries the name of Skuinshoogte, which is probably more practical as the road is built along a steep side slope of a large granite smothered mountain. The Namaqualanders are interesting people, with some quirky turns of phrase and a bluntly honest perspective of life.

Our featured pass is the southern stepping stone to a whole range of interesting gravel passes to the east of Garies. Here you will find some of the best dirt roads in the Northern Cape and they are mostly well maintained too. The link below will take you to our latest news page and from there you can take the link to the page and video. It's open to all until Sunday. Enjoy!
