Crash Bars on 690
« on: September 15, 2017, 02:30:06 pm »
Hi All

Most likely a stupid question but is it important for crash bars on a 690 enduro?
Looking at some extras on the bike and crash bars is kind of expensive.

When in doubt, flat out!!!

No, they crash pretty well with the wide bars. Hand guards are recommended though to avoid breaking levers.
Present bikes: BETA 300RR, KTM 690, Yamaha WR250F

If you're dumb you gotta be tough !!!

Crash bars on a 690 looks s#!t, it's  the same as putting crash bars on a mx bike, get radiator braces you won't need anything else.

Something to think about...
When you complain, you make yourself a victim. Leave the situation, change the situation, or accept your it. All else is madness.

I've got Rumbux on mine but the lower bolt running through the engine mounting keeps breaking off. I've tried different strength steelbolts but no luck so far. Used it with springwashers and normal washers but still no luck!

Hi thanks for all the comments.

@Dirt Junkie - think I will get the radiator braces and then bash plate and small crash bars.

I saw the Rumbux https://ktmtwins.com/products/rumbux-690-or-2 and looks awesome but bit expensive for me.
When in doubt, flat out!!!

I've chatted to Rumbux regarding my problem. They came out to me, fitted a new crashbar, no fuss. That was brilliant after sales service! I've just finished the Quads 4 Quads trip from Balito to Jhb. The bars worked wonderful and no problems experienced.

OK that's good, glad you got it sorted.

I took my first ever fall on a bike this weekend (luckily a slow fall over) and only damage was small scratches on hand guard and changed my clutch lever into a 2 finger lever.
Like my brother told me, your not trying hard enough if your not falling.
When in doubt, flat out!!!
